Itinerary . When you leave the house, go down the charming pedestrian streets of the Puits street, you will reach the Vieux-Bassin by the Place Sainte-Catherine. In a few minutes, you are in the heart of Honfleur. The walk takes 5 minutes . You enter by the Lieutenance and the Samuel Champlin Memorial. You can also choose to go down the Eugène Boudin Street, then the la Foulerie Street. It will take you as little time as the Puits Street, but you will reach the Vieux-Bassin by the Petite Chine, a tearoom where Michel Serrault liked to stop, and so we do.

THE CHURCH OF SAINT-CATHERINE AND THE SATURDAY MORNING MARKET

5 minutes away on foot, the Sainte-Catherine church. Built in the 15th century, it replaces an old church destroyed during the Hundred Years War. The inhabitants of the city built it after the departure of the English. With few means at their disposal, they used wood from the Touques forest and their knowledge of shipbuilding. Referred as a Historical Monument in 1879, it is the largest church in France built of wood. With its naves in the shape of overturned boat hulls and its bell tower separated from the main building so as not to weaken the framework, it is unique in its kind!

THE PANORAMA OF MONT-JOLI AND THE CÔTE DE GRÂCE

At 8 minutes walking distance, the Mont-Joli and the Côte de Grâce offer two magnificent panoramic views, on one side on the city and on the river, on the other side on the estuary, up to the sea. The Mont-Joli dominates the city and offers a beautiful panorama on the Seine valley and the Normandy Bridge, which links Honfleur to Havre.

Secret itinerary. To get to the Mont-Joli, there is a secret route. Leave the house, turn right on the Charrière du Puits Street (D279), and turn slightly right on the Voie Communale du Mont Joly. Be careful, it goes up, but only for 400 meters. The view is worth the climb.
